Lydia Robart

Lydia Robart is from Port Graham, Alaska. In 1997, she helped conduct oral history interviews with Port Graham Elders for the Nanwalek and Port Graham Project Jukebox project. In 1997, she also helped start the Cordova Ikumat Dance Group, which continues to perform regularly in Cordova, at the Alaska Federation of Natives Convention, and at other events around Alaska.

Dick Anahonak and Dora Kamluck, Part 1	97-235-10	Nanwalek and Port Graham	Dick Anahonak and Dora Kamluck were interviewed on September 26, 1997 by Ron Stanek and Lydia Robart of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Subsistence in Port Graham, Alaska. In this first part of a two part interview, Dick talks about his personal and family background, his parents, his subsistence fishing and hunting activities, and the early days of living in Port Graham and Prince William Sound. Dora talks about her personal and family background, her parents, connections between her and Dick's families, working in a cannery, and various subsistence activities.
Dick Anahonak and Dora Kamluck, Part 2	97-235-11	Nanwalek and Port Graham	This is the continuation of an interview with Dick Anahonak and Dora Kamluck on September 26 and 27, 1997 by Ron Stanek and Lydia Robart of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Subsistence in Port Graham, Alaska. In this second part of a two part interview, Dora and Dick talk about traditional subsistence activities in the Port Graham area, including fishing for salmon and herring, gardening, trapping, hunting squirrels, ducks and bears, traveling by kayak, and using fish camps in Port Graham Bay. Dick and Dora speak in a combination of English and their Native Sugt'stun language. No translation or transcription of the audio is available.
Feona Sawden	97-235-09	Nanwalek and Port Graham	Feona Sawden was interviewed on September 29, 1997 by Lydia Robart in Port Graham, Alaska. In this interview, Feona discusses her personal and family background, jobs she had, living a traditional and religious lifestyle, and her involvement with local issues in Port Graham, including establishing recovery services, the church committee, and the village council.
Patrick Norman	97-235-12	Nanwalek and Port Graham	Patrick Norman was interviewed on September 29, 1997 by Lydia Robart in Port Graham, Alaska. At the time of the interview, Patrick was president of the Port Graham Corporation, the Native village corporation established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). In this interview, Patrick talks about land and subsistence access issues, and economic development opportunities that the village corporation is involved with, including road construction, hatcheries and the seafood industry, tourism, fishing charters, and logging.
Elenore McMullen, Interview 2	JBPG97005	Nanwalek and Port Graham	Elenore McMullen was interviewed on October 15, 1997 by Lydia Robart in Port Graham, Alaska. In this interview, Elenore provides an historic overview of Port Graham and the traditional lifestyle of the Sugpiaq people. She also talks about serving on the village council, job opportunities, changes in the community, the impact from canneries, race relations, working in the cannery, and the changes and impacts from World War II and the military in general.
