The <NN> Cannery History Project has supported a series of community engagement sessions, collectively called Mug-Up, to which industry participants have been invited to share their cannery stories. Mug-Up's have been held at the APA Museum in Blaine, Washington, the Bristol Bay Historical Society Museum in Naknek, Alaska, the South Naknek Library, the Bristol Bay Fish Expo, and the Train Depot in Palmer, Alaska.
Mug-Up in the Mat-Su: A Conversation on Cannery Work, People, and History was held on October 7, 2018 in Palmer and featured former <NN> Cannery Superintendent Gary Johnson, Cannery Caretaker Carvel Zimin, Jr, and Bob King, former news director at KDLG radio in Dillingham, Alaska.
