Description:
Peter B. Nielsen at the Squaw Creek Cannery or Nakeen, 1930's or 1940's. Peter Nielsen was born in 1893 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and came to Bristol Bay, Alaska in 1924 from San Francisco, California, where he had jumped ship. He fished at Nakeen. He moved from Iliamna to Naknek in 1938 and moved back to Iliamna in 1940, building a homestead there that later was purchased by Art Lee in the early 1940's and became his store. Peter Nielsen died in 1950 in Seward, Alaska.
