Description:
A wall of ice that is sheared off along the edge of an open lead that is formed by the grinding action of the free ice moving against the attached shorefast ice (aqiukpak). In this case, a thin layer of new ice (sikuliaq) has started to form out from the edge of the wall. Utqiaġvik, Alaska (previously known as Barrow), April 9, 2011.
