Irene Tanape

Irene Tanape was interviewed on October 3, 1996 by Kilann Moonin Tanape in Nanwalek, Alaska. In this interview, Irene talks about her personal background, masking celebrations, and the traditional and medicinal use of plants. Kilann asks questions in English and Irene speaks in her Native Sugt'stun language. A recording of an unidentified person (perhaps Rhonda Moonin?) translating what Irene said into English is presented as a separate interview.
