Description:
Iñupiat elders Sadie Neakok, Terza Hopson, Ida Numnik, Bertha Leavitt, Julia Segevan, Hester Neakok, and Alice Solomon talk about photographs of Barrow, Alaska (now known as Utqiaġvik) in the 1920's and 1930's taken by Presbyterian minister Dr. Henry Greist. Given the recording technology available at the time of the interviews, the audio quality is not always the best or easiest to understand, and Hester Neakok mostly speaks in Iñupiaq.
