Charles Fedullo

Charles Fedullo was a broadcaster in Fairbanks for years and was a professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He was also the deputy press secretary and deputy communications director to the Palin administration. Recently, he worked at the public affairs director for the NANA Development Corporation. Currently, he is the public relations director for the marketing and public relations company, Northwest Strategies. He conducted several interviews for the Senator Ted Stevens Papers Jukebox project.

Carey also talks about his personal relationship with the Senator, Stevens’ relationship with the media, Stevens’ skill as a legislator, the corruption trial at the end of Stevens’ career, and the Stevens legacy.
William Sheffield	2009-13-03	Senator Ted Stevens Oral History Project	Former Alaska Governor William Sheffield was interviewed on May 26, 2009 by Charles Fedullo and Paul McCarthy in Anchorage, Alaska. In this interview, William Sheffield talks about working with Senator Ted Stevens on issues that effected Alaska, such as state purchase of the Alaska Railroad, expanding the port in Anchorage, rural healthcare, helping villages with water and sewer and fuel tank installation, building infrastructure, working with Native corporations on their debt burden, fishing, and resource development. He discusses Stevens’ accomplishments, disappointments, and his legacy, as well as the corruption trial and its impacts. Despite Sheffield being a Democrat and Stevens a Republican, Sheffield has nothing but praise for the former senator and thinks he should be remembered well for what he did for Alaska.
