Susannah Dowds

Originally from Buffalo, New York, Susannah Dowds first came to Alaska in the summer of 2009 where she worked as an intern at the Hammer Museum in Haines. She earned a master's degree in Northern Studies from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2017, and wrote her master’s thesis on sourdough and western expansionism, She worked as an assistant historian for Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park in Skagway, Alaska from 2016 to 2019, where in 2018 she participated in oral history interviews for the "Observing Climate Change in Alaska's National Parks Project Jukebox" project.
