George Wilson, Jr.

George Wilson, Jr.

George Wilson, Jr. was born to Anne and George Wilson, Sr. and grew up in Igiugig, Alaska. He has lived a subsistence-based lifestyle his entire life, learning to hunt, fish and trap at an early age from his father. By the time George was fourteen years old, he was going hunting and trapping on his own. He is an experienced outdoorsman who is familiar with the local resources and trails, and has spent a lot of time out in the country around Lake Iliamna. George witnessed the introduction of All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV's) and snowmachines as the main method of transportation for acccessing subsistence resources. He eventually moved to Anchorage for better employment opportunities, but frequently returns home to Igiugig where he does his hunting and fishing.
